Research Interests

My research focuses on theoretical and computational condensed matter physics, with an emphasis on uncovering the microscopic mechanisms underlying quantum materials, connetic theoretical predictions with experiments, and designing materials. To achieve this, I combine first-principles electronic structure calculations, effective Hamiltonian modeling, high-throughput computation, and method development. My primary research interest include:

  • First-principles-based modeling of electronic and magnetic properties using DFT, DFT+DMFT, and Wannier-based tight-binding methods
  • Development of effective spin Hamiltonians including noncollinear magnetic interactions
  • Magnon spectra, magnetic excitations, Berry curvature, and topological properties of spin systems
  • Machine-learning Hamiltonian methods for electronic structures and magnetic exchange interactions
  • Materials design for quantum materials, strongly correlated systems, and two-dimensional van der Waals materials
  • Method and software development for band unfolding, torque magnetometry simulations, Landau levels, optical conductivity, and correlated electronic structures
